Install Jellyfin first

Reelhost sets up and fixes Jellyfin. It doesn't include it.

  1. Download Jellyfin Server for Windows or macOS from jellyfin.org/downloads/server and install it. In Docker, run Jellyfin's own image: the compose file on the download page includes it.
  2. Open it once, so it creates its settings.
  3. Finish Jellyfin's first-run setup in your browser, or let Reelhost do it: People & folders shows Finish setting up Jellyfin until it's done.

If the desktop app can't find Jellyfin, the Check-up says Jellyfin isn't on this computer yet, with Download Jellyfin and Check again.

Emby on the same computer? Open Jellyfin at http://127.0.0.1:8096, not localhost. While both servers use port 8096, "localhost" can open Emby's page instead.
