Getting started

Autopilot

Autopilot keeps the fixes you applied in place, and tells you about trouble it can't fix. It looks every 15 minutes in the background, with Reelhost closed too. It's under Autopilot on Monitor, and on by default with Yearly.

Fixes it keeps. Only ones you applied, never a new one: Jellyfin's web port, the firewall rule, network discovery off, staying awake when plugged in, starting Jellyfin when you sign in, video on the graphics card, the TV guide's hourly update, and your web address's secure connection. When a Windows, macOS or Jellyfin update undoes one, Autopilot puts it back the way Apply does, with a backup first. If it's undone again within a day, or three times in a week, Autopilot stops and tells you instead, until you apply it again yourself.

Trouble it tells you about: a library drive or network share that's disconnected, your web address's certificate not renewing, Jellyfin not starting after the computer restarted, a drive filling fast, and the TV guide no longer updating. When a library drive comes back, it asks Jellyfin to scan your libraries.

  • Fix automatically puts fixes back by itself, at most once a day each. Only tell me just tells you.
  • What Autopilot did lists its last 30 actions in plain words.
  • Turn on alerts to get what it finds by email. Alerts name the trouble, never folders or titles.
  • A fix you take back on purpose (unticking it, restoring a backup, turning off your web address) is never put back.
  • To turn Autopilot off, untick it. Its background task goes too, unless alerts use it.

Autopilot comes with Yearly (and the older Lifetime plan).
