Smart rows: Because you watched, Never finished

Jellyfin's home screen can't have rows of its own without an add-on. So Reelhost makes them as playlists that belong to each person, and only they see theirs:

  • Reelhost · Because you watched …: about 20 titles they haven't watched that share genres, cast and crew, and studios with the last thing they finished.
  • Reelhost · Never finished: what they started and left more than two weeks ago.
  1. Open Watching → Viewing. Under More for watching, tick Smart rows.
  2. Under Playlists for, untick anyone who shouldn't get them. People you add later get them too. A kids profile only gets what it may watch.
  3. Tick Seasonal collections if you want them, then click Turn on smart rows.

Seasonal collections are Halloween in October, Christmas and holidays in December, and Summer from June to August. Each one gathers titles whose genre, keywords or name fit, from all your libraries, and appears only in season. Everyone sees them, but each person only sees the titles they're allowed to watch.

  • Where people find them: in Jellyfin, under Playlists in the menu, and through the Playlists tile in the My media row of the home screen. Seasonal collections are under Collections, and in the Collections tab of Movies.
  • Reelhost updates them every night after 3 am while your PC or Mac is on, or in Docker while Reelhost's container runs. The section shows when they were last updated.
  • Every name starts with "Reelhost ·". Reelhost never changes your own playlists or collections.
  • To stop, untick Smart rows and click Turn off smart rows. That removes only the playlists and collections Reelhost made. Removing Reelhost also offers to take them away.

Turning smart rows on needs Complete or Yearly; turning them off is free.
