Watch together (Beta)

Pick a movie or episode and who's watching. Each screen counts down from 3, then it starts on all of them at once. While it plays, Reelhost keeps everyone in step: when one person pauses, everyone pauses; the first to press play resumes everyone; a skip takes everyone there; and a screen that falls more than two seconds behind is quietly brought back. You can also Add someone partway through (they start where everyone is) and play the next episode together.

On a PC or Mac, keep Reelhost open during the movie (minimised is fine). In Docker, Reelhost runs it from your server, so you can close the page. It stops when everyone stops, when you press End, or after 30 minutes with nobody playing.

Apps that follow along: Jellyfin in a web browser, Jellyfin Media Player, the official Android app, LG and Samsung TV apps (usually), the official Android TV / Google TV / Fire TV app, and Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi add-on. Apps that can't: Roku, Swiftfin and Infuse (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) and Findroid don't accept remote control; open the title on them by hand. If people make a SyncPlay group, Reelhost leaves those screens to SyncPlay.

Watch together is new and still being tested with different apps. If something doesn't stay in step, tell us from Ask Reelhost or support@reelhost.app. It needs Complete or Yearly.
