Download subtitles first, then AI

Most films and shows already have subtitles people made. On the Subtitles screen, Download from OpenSubtitles uses Jellyfin's own way of getting them: the official Open Subtitles add-on from Jellyfin's catalog, with your own free account at opensubtitles.com.

  1. Choose your language (and any others) under Languages.
  2. Choose Set up downloads. Reelhost installs Open Subtitles if Jellyfin doesn't have it (Jellyfin restarts once to load it), and sets your libraries to download missing subtitles in your languages, saved next to each video, skipping videos that have subtitles inside them. Undo is on the Viewing screen, under Subtitles.
  3. In Jellyfin, open Dashboard > Plugins > Open Subtitles, enter your opensubtitles.com username and password, and save. Reelhost never asks for your password and never sees it; the screen notices once the account is there.

With Try downloading before making AI subtitles on, each new video waits for one try of Jellyfin's task "Download missing subtitles" (Reelhost starts it when new videos arrive, at most every 3 hours; Jellyfin also runs it daily). Videos it finds subtitles for are skipped; AI makes only the rest. If downloads can't work (no add-on, no account, or the account was refused), nothing waits and the screen says why. The screen shows the last download run and how many videos it found subtitles for. A free account downloads a limited number a day; Jellyfin carries on the next day.
