What the web address needs from your router
Only one thing: TCP port 443 sent to this computer. Reelhost asks your router for it with UPnP, which most home routers support, and labels the rule "Reelhost".
If the router doesn't answer (UPnP is off or not supported), or port 443 already goes to another device, Reelhost shows these steps with your router's and computer's addresses filled in. It never takes over or removes someone else's rule.
- Open your router's settings: type its address in a browser and sign in. The password is often on the router's label.
- Find Port forwarding. It's sometimes called Virtual servers, NAT or Applications & gaming.
- Add a rule: TCP port 443 to this computer's address, port 443. Name it Reelhost, then save.
- While you're there, reserve this computer's address (DHCP reservation), so the rule keeps working after a restart.
Then click Check from outside. Port 80 isn't needed.
