Firewall
- What it means
- Windows Firewall, or the macOS firewall, may block phones and TVs at home from reaching Jellyfin.
- What the fix changes
-
On Windows: adds one Windows Firewall rule of Reelhost's own for Jellyfin's port. It lets in devices on your home network, plus your Tailscale devices if you use private watching, and nobody else. Jellyfin doesn't restart.
On a Mac: lets Jellyfin's server through the macOS firewall, after your Mac asks for your password. When the firewall is off, nothing is blocked and the check says so. "Block all incoming connections" is explained, never changed.
- How to undo
- Restore the backup. The rule is removed, or the one that was there before is put back.
On a Mac all ten checks appear, done the macOS way, and Network drives is called Start at login. In Docker, Firewall, Sleep settings and Network drives don't apply in a container, so they're hidden, and Antenna TV is set up on its own screen. More about Docker.
