Licenses and account

Anonymous usage

After your first check-up, or on the License screen, Reelhost asks Help us improve Reelhost? Nothing is counted or sent unless you choose Share anonymous usage. With No thanks, nothing is counted and you aren't asked again.

If you say yes, at most once a day Reelhost sends api.reelhost.app only:

  • A random install ID made on your computer. It isn't your license key, your email or anything from your hardware.
  • Your plan, your platform (Windows, Mac or Docker), Reelhost's version and Jellyfin's version (such as 10.10).
  • For each week, counts of which screens you opened and which features you used, from a fixed list, and how far setup steps got, such as Set up Jellyfin for me or a web address's certificate.

It never sends titles, file or folder names, people's names, email or web addresses, anything you type, your license key, or what anyone watches.

  • Counts wait on your computer until they're sent. A send that fails is tried a day later; counts older than 7 days are dropped unsent.
  • To turn it off, open License and, under Anonymous usage, untick Share which features you use, as anonymous counts. Counting stops at once, and the waiting counts and the install ID are deleted. Turning it on again makes a new ID.

The privacy policy says how long we keep the counts and how we use them. It's the same on every plan, the free check-up included.
